PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
This one-of-a-kind set was a custom order for a client who wanted jewelry made from her beautiful opal slab. It was a great honor and pleasure to cut these stones and wrap them into wearable art!
Morado Opal is found in central Mexico. It's also called "purple opal" and "Opal Royale" (how appropriate!). The name Morado is derived from the Spanish word for "purple". It's known for its beautiful display of purple and white combinations. The purple color--from fluorite inclusions--brings a sense of soothing, of peace. It may help calm the nervous system.
This piece displays beautiful pastel purple and white patterns. Under a Longwave UV Light, the white areas turn brilliant green (hard to capture on camera, but stunning in person). The earrings are each accented with faceted Amethyst beads. All three pieces are embellished with dangling silver feathers. The silver feathers are finished with a tarnish resistant, hypoallergenic coating. All are hand wrapped in Argentium Silver wire (tarnish resistant) and polished to a mirror shine.
